June to September 2014: exhibition "Paint thousand years ago. Colors of the Romanesque"

The exhibition shows how painted the artists of the Romanesque

Until December 14 the Episcopal Museum of Vic hosts the exhibition "Pintar fa mil anys. Els colors del romànic"(Paint thousand years ago. Colors of the Romanesque), which shows the colors that the artists painted a thousand years ago. The exhibition is the result of an investigation by the same museum during 3 years within the Magistri Cataloniae project, which demonstrates that the Romanesque churches were painted with bright and colourful colors, as well as the sculptures and canopies that accompanied them. The visit shows the identity of some of the painters of the time, authors of the Ribes canopy, the front of Puigbò in Espinelves, the Lluçà altar and murals of Sant Tomàs Becket Santa in Santa Maria de Terrassa, undoubted all them the leading actors of this exhibition.

The exhibition is open on regular schedule of the Episcopal Museum of Vic: Tuesday to Saturday from 10 to 19h. (April to September) and Sunday and holidays from 10 to 14h.
